63rd Canadian Geotechnical Conference
& 6th Canadian Permafrost Conference

Platinum Sponsors

Conference Program

With the Canadian Rockies as a backdrop, our theme – GEO2010: In the New West – reflects Calgary’s western culture and its unique role and impact in the development of western Canada. It also refers to the past and future potential in new research developments and advancements in geotechnical and permafrost engineering.

The GEO2010 conference program will include daily plenary sessions, featuring keynote speakers of interest to all delegates, followed by technical and specialty sessions to meet the diverse needs of attendees. The 2010 R.M. Hardy lecture will be given by Dr. Jim Oswell, P.Eng. of Naviq Consulting. Prominent and up and coming members of the profession will be recognized at the CGS’s annual awards.

In addition to the technical program and plenary sessions, the conference will include local technical tours, workshops and short courses.

The technical committee is presently developing short courses and technical tours to be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010. Our technical tours are a valuable way to be exposed to local geotechnical conditions and features. Be sure to check back for more information on proposed short courses and tours in early 2010.

We anticipate that the complete conference program will be available for viewing in the spring of 2010.
